As a seasoned legal professional with over four decades of distinguished experience, Paul V. Ciminelli, Esq., brings unparalleled expertise and experience to the field of law. His career spans private practice, public service, and military leadership, making him a trusted advisor and advocate in both civilian and government settings.
Currently serving as Counsel to the Sheriff of Monroe County, Paul acts as the principal legal advisor to the region’s largest law enforcement agency. He specializes in legal matters related to law enforcement operations, policy development, compliance, and risk management. His work ensures the alignment of agency strategies with federal, state, and local legal frameworks. Paul has also represented the Sheriff’s Office in high-profile cases and provided critical legal training to agency personnel, reinforcing best practices and procedural compliance.
In his role as Of Counsel at Stark | Lattuca, Paul continues his tradition of excellence in providing comprehensive legal representation, problem solving and crisis management to clients across a range of industries. His practice is rooted in a commitment to ethical standards, professional responsibility, and achieving success.
Paul’s legal career includes founding and leading Ciminelli & Ciminelli, PLLC, where he provided strategic legal counsel for over 29 years, and serving as an Assistant District Attorney in the Major Felony Bureau for Monroe County, where he prosecuted complex violent felony cases and led interagency investigations.
Beyond the courtroom, Paul is a dedicated educator, having served as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Monroe Community College. He taught courses on terrorism and homeland security, preparing students for careers in the public and private sector. Paul worked as faculty at the NATO School, Oberammergau, Germany & Niinisalo, Finland, teaching and mentoring officers from NATO countries, Eastern Europe and Mediterranean Partner Nations on NATO Operational Planning and Staff Operations. He completed several short tours acting as an Observer Controller, Instructor for the Strategic Decision-Making Exercise, US Army War College, Carlisle, PA.
Paul’s commitment to service is further exemplified by his 30-year military career, retiring with the rank of Colonel in the United States Army. His military accolades include numerous awards and recognitions resulting performance during deployments to Afghanistan, Bosnia, Korea, Africa and the Persian Gulf, where he served in key leadership roles and as a subject matter expert on joint, interagency, multi-national operations Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations.
An active contributor to his community, Paul is the host and producer of Valor Radio on WYSL 1040, a platform dedicated to honoring veterans and first responders. His dedication to veterans’ issues is a testament to his values of service and leadership.
Paul currently resides in Florida with his bride, Ms. Sheri L. Tooley, where they relish all the Gulf Coast has to offer, enjoying extensive travel as well as visits with their four children and four grandchildren, and where Paul has become an avid pickle ball competitor.
